The types of bodywork and energetics that are the basis of our sessions:

Acupressure and Tui Na
Acupressure uses the energy meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to address holding patterns and muscular restrictions through various touch methods (holding and balancing points, deep touch with coordinated breath patterns.)
Tui Na is traditional Chinese massage, and incorporates a variety of strokes and palpations, compression, brushing, stretching, rocking, and mobilizing movements. This is a very active and energizing experience that leaves you feeling both rested and invigorated.
An acupressure/Tui Na session is usually performed over loose clothing, but specific acupressure points may be used in the context of a regular bodywork session as well.
BEMER is an acronym for Bio-Electro-Magnetic Energy Regulation, and is a technology in use world-wide in hospitals and clinics. In the US, it is an FDA-registered medical device that supports general blood flow, the body's nutrient and oxygen supply and waste disposal, cardiac function, physical fitness (endurance, strength and energy), concentration, stress reduction, relaxation, and sleep management. Using the Bemer system for a specific period gives a boost to the way your program works, and the expense of this use is included in your program.
Cranial Sacral Balancing
Slow and subtle physical balancing of deeper muscle layers that affect balance and body alignment through the spinal column and secondarily, the nervous system (in terms of the client's body awareness.) Integration of this work may take several days and client education on this integration process is part of the work.
Cupping and Moxibustion
Also part of TCM, cupping and moxibustion provide releasing and toning support at acupressure points or areas of tightness or restriction. Cupping involves vacuum suction of various types (sliding, flash, and multiple cupping) in places where there is stagnation, numbness, or restriction; moxibustion (use of a safe smoke application from the mugwort plant) warms and strengthens areas that are energy-deficient. These techniques are applied to bare skin.
Energetic work addresses deeper stressors on the body. Our bodies run on bio-magnetic energy — the "battery" that keeps our heart beating, our digestion functioning, and our organs supporting us. When we are overtired, stressed, or depressed, this battery system can feel drained. Energy work helps to clear the pathways that keep us functioning at a productive level. While we don't physically massage these deeper systems, we can access this energy through a very light touch and focused awareness.
Passive stretching to address range-of-motion restrictions, movement re-patterning, and integration of new patterns. Assisted stretching and isometric (or resisted) stretching to consciously re-program movement patterns and increase body awareness for the client.
Ortho-Bionomy® is a gentle, noninvasive, osteopathically-based form of body therapy which works well with chronic stress, injuries and pains, or problems associated with postural and structural imbalances. Your comfort is the primary goal, so no forceful manipulations are used. Ortho-Bionomy helps alleviate both acute and chronic stress patterns by reducing chronic muscle tension, soothing the joints, increasing flexibility, improving circulation, and relaxing the entire body. You can learn more about this at the SOBI public information website.
A Japanese energetic modality using the body's bio-magnetic fields for relaxation, relieving stress, supporting well-being, and energy enhancement through gentle hands-on touch with the client clothed. Reiki is particularly effective in helping to heal injuries and recover from illness or surgery, as well as for relaxation, body awareness, and mindfulness.
